Albery Seixas da Cunha (1944–2003) was a Brazilian painter, engraver and plastic artist, an emblematic figure of sensual surrealism.

Born in Belém, he trained at the National School of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro before conquering the international scene in the 1970s and 1980s, a period during which he set up his studios in Paris and New York. Famous for his dreamy female nudes that blend dream and anatomy, he mingled with Salvador Dalí and became the official portraitist of world figures such as Princess Caroline of Monaco or Elizabeth Taylor.

During his European sojourn in the 1970s, Albery Seixas da Cunha had the opportunity to rub shoulders with Salvador Dalí, a master who deeply marked his artistic approach. This crucial encounter nourished his innate tendency toward dreamlike erotism and surrealism.
