Sculpture, Atena - 61 cm - Bronze

Bronze statue depicting Athena, corresponding to Minerva in Roman tradition, shown standing and with the characteristic attributes of the warrior goddess.
Origin Italian, 20th century.

The figure wears an elaborate crested helmet, decorated on the top with ornamental elements and winged figures. On the chest is visible an aegis decorated with scales, with a central medallion depicting the Gorgoneion, the head of Medusa, a traditional protective attribute of Athena. The goddess is also accompanied by a large shield, on which the face of the Gorgon is depicted.
