Description from the seller
Original painting by Bulgarian artist Petar Mitchev, known as Pedro (1955–2024).
Turquoise Reverie presents an intimate and highly stylised composition of a woman and a horse, brought together through the artist’s distinctive geometric and figurative visual language.
The female figure and the horse appear almost intertwined, creating a sense of closeness, calm and silent communication. The composition is dominated by rich turquoise and blue tones, complemented by ochre, orange and golden accents.
Mitchev’s characteristic elongated forms, expressive outlines and geometric construction give the work a dreamlike and contemplative atmosphere. The compact square format further concentrates attention on the relationship between the two figures.
The painting is hand-signed “Mitchev” in the lower left corner.
The artwork is presented in an elegant decorative wooden frame in gold and dark brown tones, which complements the palette of the painting.
This work is a characteristic example of the distinctive figurative style for which Petar Mitchev-Pedro became known, combining stylised human and animal forms, geometric construction and a rich, expressive palette.
