German stoneware beer can (bierkan) in Westerwald style with a tin lid, circa 1930–1940, 35 cm high, 24 cm wide and 17 cm in diameter, decorated with reliefs including a female head and an eight-pointed star, grey-blue salt glaze with cobalt accents, in good used condition with minor signs of age and spots.

Beautifully decorated German stoneware jug (or beer stein/flagon) in the characteristic Westerwald pottery style. This type of ceramic is known for its gray-blue salt glaze with deep blue cobalt accents.
Germany circa 1930-1940 or older?
Material: Salt-glazed stoneware (Steinzeug) combined with a detailed tin lid (Zinnendeckel).
Decoration: The jug is richly adorned with reliefs, including a female face (often an allegorical depiction or a mask/bust) on the neck, floral motifs and a striking eight-pointed star on the body.
Style and Dating: This design harkens back to the historical Renaissance- and Baroque vessels from the 16th and 17th centuries. Exemplars like this were mostly produced during the Historismus period (late 19th or early 20th century) in Germany, in which old artisanal styles were rediscovered and emulated on a large scale.
Dimensions: about 35 cm high with a diameter of 17 cm.
Condition: in good condition with minimal signs of use.
