On this square format, Medsan places Goldorak standing on a black rock, in the middle of a raging sea. The robot from Go Nagai's manga stands with his back-three-quarters to the viewer, legs apart, the right arm stretched toward the sky: he has just thrown his axe, whose two bluish blades streak out of the frame at the top left. His helmet with yellow horns and his blue visor remain turned toward the horizon. Behind him, a large red disc fills the cream sky, and an immense wave rises on the left, white crests like claws and foam dotted with droplets. On the right, the red and white saucer of the Camembert drifts, with fins deployed above the clouds. Further away, the snow-capped Mount Fuji dominates a wooded coast where a second dark robot, with curved horns, stands in the water. Pink petals traverse the entire scene. In the bottom right corner, the caption メドサン ; two bands of Japanese characters border the left side, a third on the right side. The deep blue of the ocean and the vermilion of the sun define the whole palette.

About Medsan / Popsan:
Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of a single artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores the worlds of medicine and anatomy; under the name Popsan, he revisits icons of popular culture by blending pop art, Japanese art, and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates within the Atelier Joconde, a family-run artists’ workshop, alongside the artists Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
