Description from the seller
Rare Ferrari Figli mandolin, built around 1900 in Naples, in exceptionally beautiful condition. This instrument is a wonderful example of Italian craftsmanship from the early 20th century. The mandolin is richly decorated with mother-of-pearl around the soundhole, giving it a luxurious and striking appearance.
Important detail: six small inlays in the mother-of-pearl work are missing. They are visible but do not detract from the overall look and authenticity of the instrument, especially given its age. A luthier could certainly add them.
It is a classic bowlback mandolin with finely inlaid ribs and original hardware. The neck is straight and the instrument is structurally sound. The tone is warm and bright, typical of historic Italian mandolins.
Very rare: this mandolin comes with the original hard case, which is still in good condition and fits the instrument perfectly.
Condition: very good for its age, with light signs of use consistent with an instrument over 120 years old.
A unique opportunity to acquire a rare Ferrari Figli mandolin, ideal for both collectors and players seeking an authentic historic instrument.
