Yaseneva Sveta - Reflection of Summer

An original artwork executed in acrylic on canvas. The composition depicts a nude woman seated beside the water, surrounded by ducks, reflections and a picturesque mountain landscape. The contrast between cool blue and turquoise tones of the water and warm reds, oranges and ochres creates a rich and expressive colour space. The red hat serves as the main compositional accent, connecting the figure with the surrounding landscape.

I particularly enjoy working with bright acrylic colours. I paint works like this in a wonderful mood, and I like to believe that this mood is conveyed through the colour and the painting itself and will be felt by you in this artwork.

The painterly approach combines a realistic treatment of the figure with freer, textured brushwork in the landscape and water. Layered acrylic application and expressive brushstrokes convey reflections, movement, light and depth.

The title Reflection of Summer refers to the reflections on the surface of the water as well as to the overall atmosphere of the scene — stillness, warmth and the feeling of suspended summer time.
