A Still Life with Roses.
Painted by the artist Gerardus Johannes Ernens,
The artist showed talent from a young age and developed into a painter with a wholly distinctive style.
From a young age he came into contact with the renowned painter Jan Bevort (1917-1996), who helped him develop his talent. After Jan Bevort, he worked for a time with the interior and church painter Jan Jumelet.
The work is generally in reasonable condition (crackle is scattered).
The work is carefully packed and shipped.
Ernens became best known for his colorful, somewhat suggestive and relief-like landscapes and floral compositions.
Several exhibitions have been held of his work, and Gerard Ernens was a member of the International Organization of Free Art.
Gerard painted from the very beginning with a palette knife. His paintings have a light impressionistic touch and are still clearly recognizable.
