Omega - Chronostop - 145.009 - Men - 1967

Thank you for considering this piece. I am proud to present the Omega Chronostop. The watch, produced in the late 1960s and originally part of the Seamaster line, is characterized by the short-interval timer operated with a monopusher. The mechanism is simple. Press to start the timer. Press it again and hold it to observe the timing, then release to return to the starting position as a flyback.
From 1967 this model was moved to the Geneve series.

Inside ticks the manually-wound Calibre 850 movement with 17 jewels and 21,600 Bph. This movement was used only for this model and is therefore quite unique. It runs smoothly and is easy to wind.

The watch measures 35x39mm and the case has a brushed top surface. In this exemplar it has been well preserved, whereas others are often smoothly polished, thereby losing the aesthetic of the watch.

The plexiglass shows a few fine hairlines, but they are not considered bothersome.

This watch is fitted with a generic matching brown leather strap with orange stitching and featuring the original Omega tang buckle.

Finally, the dial, and thus the ace of this clock. Originally delivered with a charcoal-gray dial, it has gradually and evenly faded over the years to a chocolate-brown dial. This tropical dial is therefore unique and makes this watch a collector’s item. The orange hand retains its bright color and leaps into view.
