Description from the seller
This original work by Bart Hamelink, titled Busy Life 7, presents a colorful collection of figures, animals and strange characters that together form a busy, almost chaotic world.
The many simple lines and overlapping figures depict the ongoing movement of daily life: people around us, encounters, thoughts and everything that demands our attention at the same time. Precisely in that chaos, a new small detail or character is continually to be discovered.
The combination of the warm yellow background with the dark reddish lines gives the work a powerful and vibrant appearance. The spontaneous, almost childlike drawing style is characteristic of Hamelink’s work and makes the composition playful, direct and recognizable.
Busy Life 7 is executed in acrylic on canvas, is a unique original, signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Note: the interior photos are atmospheric images and serve solely as impressions. Because of the large size the canvas will be rolled up and carefully packed in a sturdy square shipping tube and shipped. The work is delivered without the depicted frame and without the stretcher."} } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } }} } } } } } } } }} } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } }} } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } }} } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } }}}``{Wait}}=> The JSON seems malformed with extra braces. Seller's Story
Hamelink combines contemporary themes with influences from the past and often works in an energetic, expressive style. He draws inspiration from the tradition of artists such as Herman Brood, who was known for his raw, spontaneous approach, as well as Riek van Iersel, who sought a powerful emotional expression in his work.
Hamelink is best known for his paintings and drawings, in which he pushes the boundaries of traditional painting and tackles themes such as identity, culture and social issues. His work can be characterised by a direct, unpolished approach to the medium, which exudes a certain spontaneity and energy. Like Brood and Van Iersel, Hamelink plays with the tension between personal experience and the broader social context, often with a focus on contemporary society.
His style is often raw, unfiltered and full of expression, using powerful colours and dynamic shapes that enhance the urgency of his themes. Bart Hamelink seems to bridge the gap between traditional expressive movements and contemporary art with his work, while at the same time critically reflecting on modern times.
