Description from the seller
Monumental allegorical composition dedicated to the fallen of the Great War and to November 4th. At the center, the Angel/Victory gently supports the fallen soldier, surrounded by allegorical figures of the Fatherland in mourning (women and children) bearing garlands of flowers. At the bottom the engraved inscriptions appear: "IGNOTO MILITI 1915-1918" and "IV - NOVEMBRE".
Material: Bronze with a beautiful original golden/brown patina. On the back there are 4 original mounting pins.
Marks and Publisher: Marks of the National Propaganda Office of Milan with serial number (N° 68 / Propaganda Nazionale Milano) etched on the lower edge.
Dimensions: 39.5 x 31 x 2 cm
Weight: About 4–5 kg (solid and robust bronze structure).
Conditions: Excellent original conservational conditions of the period, with a natural and fascinating patina of time. No structural defects or cracks.
