Magnificent facsimile edition of the "Medicina Antiqua", one of the most precious medical manuscripts of the Middle Ages.
This exceptional lot presents the faithful reproduction of Codex Vindobonensis 93 kept at the Austrian National Library. A true medieval therapeutic encyclopedia, this 13th‑century manuscript gathers ancient treatises illustrated with superb miniatures depicting care scenes, medicinal plants, and mythological figures.

- Quality of execution: The printing was entrusted to Akademische Druck-u. Verlagsanstalt (Graz), a world reference for reproducing ancient manuscripts. The colors and the grain of the original parchment are reproduced with striking precision.
- Master binding: The volume is finished with a magnificent full-leather binding made by the Ateliers J. Ardouin in Paris, adorned with a stylized caduceus motif on the first cover.
- Complete critical apparatus: Includes the indispensable commentary volume with the French translation by Marthe Dulong, enabling an in-depth study of the Latin texts.
- Edition: Limited and numbered (Exemplaire n° 485).
- Format: In-4 (approximately 29 x 20 cm).
- Pagination: About 300 pages in total for the two volumes.

The work is in very good overall condition. The interior is of exemplary freshness, with no foxing or annotations.
Note: Some light scuffing are visible on the leather corners, as well as a very discreet patina on the spine. The book block is perfectly solid and the binding remains supple and robust.
