Walking stick - with slang (Esculaap)

In this lot: a walking stick with a snake on the handle.

The walking stick, a recognition/emblem for a physician, decorated with an Aesculapian snake or serpent, named after the Greek god Aesculapius, god of medicine.
The handle is probably bone and the snake has glass eyes.
Length 86 cm, weight 270 g.
The stick is also ideal to use, very sturdy.
The piece is in antique condition, the stick itself shows signs of use as would be expected given its age, see photo.
Comes from a private collection, a collectors item.
