Unique mix of oil paint, high-quality acrylic and graphic design on canvas
My name is Miguel, but my nickname and artist name is ‘Miggie’. I was born in 1988 in the Netherlands. Art has been an important part of who I am my whole life. From a young age I have drawn and painted. For me, art is the way to color the world, visualize ideas, and express myself.
I am a visual artist living in the Burgundian city of Maastricht, close to the Belgian and German borders. Because of the international environment I live in, I come into contact daily with different cultures, styles and influences. This versatility, together with my curiosity about the world around me, is an important source of inspiration.
My first encounter with art began in primary school. I made portraits, comic drawings and endless doodles. Later I discovered graffiti and became increasingly interested in street art. Eventually I further developed my passion at the Art Academy in Maastricht.
My style
My work is a mix of street art, pop culture and contemporary visual art. I draw inspiration from art history, popular culture and everyday subjects that touch, surprise or curiosity people.
Artists such as Dillon Boy, Banksy, Jeff Koons and Marcel Duchamp have inspired me, but I try to find my own way above all. I do not believe in thinking inside fixed boxes. Precisely by combining different styles, techniques and materials, something new and unique emerges for me.
My works are colorful, expressive and often feature several layers and details. Each painting is a unique piece in which my love for art, street culture and contemporary visual language come together.
Technique
For my works I use various materials and techniques. I work with, among other things:
* Oil paint
* Graphic design as canvas print
* Markers
* Wall paint
* High-quality acrylic paint
By combining these techniques, a mixed-media artwork with its own character and look emerges.
Unique work, ready to hang directly
Each artwork is unique and handmade. The works are executed on canvas and are ready to hang directly. This way you bring an original piece of contemporary art into your home that cannot be found anywhere else.
Shipping
To protect the canvas as best as possible, each artwork is carefully packed in double-layered bubble wrap. It is then provided with a sturdy, custom-made outer box. This ensures the artwork can reach its new home safely and well protected.
Thank you for your interest in my work. I hope my art inspires you, moves you or simply puts a smile on your face.
