Splendid oil painting on canvas by the Palermo-born master Aurelio Barbalonga (1922–2004), created between September 7 and 8, 1963 in Ancona/Campobasso. The work represents an excellent historical and documentary glimpse of the artist: it is, in fact, an en plein air painting executed live on the occasion of the 2nd Ex Tempore Painting Competition - Premio Città di Campobasso, organized by ENAL. The painting depicts the view along Via Genova with a sight of the famous Castello Monforte that dominates the Molisan city. The back of the canvas is exceptionally rich in autograph and historical details that certify its authenticity.
