Description from the seller
Splendid oil painting on canvas depicting the "Madonna with Child," a work by the well-known Italian figurative painter Gianni Baranello (born in Monterotondo, Rome, in 1951).
The work reproduces with extraordinary delicacy the classical devotional iconography of sacred maternity. The faces of the Virgin and the Baby Jesus are characterized by soft shading and a deep chiaroscuro that recall the great Renaissance artistic tradition, enriched by the symbolic presence of the white lily, emblem of purity.
The painting bears the artist's contracted signature on the lower right front and is extensively signed on the back with the title ("Bambino") and the technique ("Oil on canvas").
The work is accompanied by its original purchase document ("Fissato di vendita"), dated August 20, 1995, issued by the historic La Perla Art Gallery (Rome/Fiuggi), which attests in an unassailable manner to its authenticity and period.
The painting is in excellent overall condition, ready to be included in a contemporary sacred art collection or as a precious decorative element."}
