Gillis van Tilborgh (1615-1678), after - Reunión en la taberna-escuela flamenca

Genre painting depicting a lively interior tavern scene, with numerous characters gathered around tables and barrels. The composition shows men, women and children dressed in period attire, conversing, drinking and sharing food.

The scene is built with high-contrast lighting, predominantly earthy tones, ochres, greens and browns. Notable are especially the variety of characters, their expressions and the numerous details of the ambience: barrels, jugs, tableware, food, benches and architectural elements of the tavern.
