Takeru Amano, his universe is unique and childlike, inspired by Japanese culture of the late 20th century in which he grew up. Takeru uses classical, philosophical, or even mythological subjects and blends them with a neo-pop aesthetic and often a touch of humor. Think of a Venus with a lemon. Or the Virgin Mary sketched in luminous fluorescent colors. It may be surprising to see these well-known Western icons from his pop-Tokyo, surrealist viewpoint.
His works are presented in the world's finest museums alongside works by Andy Warhol, Banksy, Damien Hirst, Takashi
