The volumes are richly illustrated and contain a total of 36 beautiful, full-page copper plates, distributed as follows:
Volume I: 12 copper plates
Volume II: 8 copper plates
Volume III: 8 copper plates
Volume V: 6 copper plates
Volume VI: 2 copper plates
Rarity: Very decorative and rare edition of the famous Renaissance epic.
Condition:
Bindings: The books were rebound in the 20th century in very decorative bindings (modern half-leather or cardboard bindings). The bindings are firm and clean.
Pages & text block: Good, age-appropriate condition. The pages are largely untrimmed (wide-margin copy with the original, uneven cut of the era). Occasional age-related foxing or light browning, which is normal for paper of that time.
Illustrations: The beautiful copper plates and engravings are in a strong, well-preserved impression.
Important note on completeness: This is 5 of 6 volumes (Volumes I, II, III, V and VI). Volume IV is missing (therefore offered as an incomplete set).
