Description from the seller
Alexander Diener (born 1958) – Abstract composition – Oil on canvas – signed original
Expressive original painting by the German-Russian artist Alexander Diener. Diener was born in 1958 in Altai, lived and worked among others in Kazakhstan and Russia and has been based in Germany since 1995. According to published biographical information he studied art in Moscow and was already active in Alma-Ata as a lecturer and private teacher; in Germany he continued his teaching activities.
The present abstract-figurative composition is characterized by a free, powerful brushwork and a deliberately reduced formal language. From broad color fields and black contours, suggested figures and representational elements develop. The subdued red and green tones are enlivened by strong accents. The work shows Diener’s proximity to an expressive language influenced by Russian modernism and the avant-garde.
Original painting, oil on canvas, signed. Acquired in 2022 directly as a work by Alexander Diener. Unframed and ready for wall mounting. From gallery stock.
