Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Description
A winged female figure holds a red fruit between her hands, transformed into the symbolic center of the composition. The scene, built on an atmosphere of twilight and contemplation, presents an image suspended between the allegorical and the intimate.
The fruit takes on a dimension that transcends its material nature: it can be understood as desire, knowledge, temptation, or surrender. The figure's contemplative attitude avoids a closed narrative reading and places the viewer before a moment of decision, in which what is offered contains both promise and uncertainty.
The contrast between the skin's luminosity, the pinkish tone of the dress, the enveloping darkness, and the intense red of the fruit articulates a composition of strong visual character. The wings introduce a symbolic reference to classical tradition, while the pictorial resolution maintains contemporary sensitivity.
The Offering thus invites reflection on the act of giving and on the ambiguity inherent to what we desire: offering something can be, at once, a gesture of generosity, a form of seduction, or a renunciation.
Alejandro Carballosa, Plastic artist and Cuban designer based in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion, and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light, and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
Trained in visual arts and design, he integrates the aesthetic sensitivity of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
His work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions, and is part of private collections in Germany and the United States
