Description from the seller
HISTORY OF THE BRAND:
Marvin Watch Company, founded in 1850 by brothers Marc & Emmanuel Didisheim in Switzerland, grew from producing reliable pocket watches to a globally recognized brand known for quality, innovation (like the left-handed "La Gauche"), and unique designs, including iconic "Tire" and "Motorist" watches, with famous wearers like Marilyn Monroe, before facing the quartz crisis, being revived in the 2000s, and continuing today as a mid-range luxury brand focused on accessible Swiss Made timepieces.
lden Era & Collaborations (1940s-1960s)
• Motorsports & Airlines: Partnered with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (creating "The Flying Dutchman") and luxury car brands like Ferrari, Mercedes, and Jaguar, as noted by this Catawiki article and this Grail Watch Wiki entry.
• Iconic Designs: Produced popular "Tire" (keychain) and "Motorist" watches, appealing to a broad market with stylish, affordable luxury.
• Celebrity Appeal: Worn by figures like Marilyn Monroe and Che Guevara, reports this Wilberforce Watches page, highlighting its wide reach.
By 1976, the firm became part of the MSR Group, along with Revue Thommen and Vulcain. But Marvin did not succeed in making a transition to quartz and the brand was abandoned by the 1980s.
This wonderful tuxedo blue composite falconeye dial dress style watch is an amazing example of the 70s watch-era, with its rectangular tvscreen shape, fits great to any wrist.
