Rare Wiener Bronze: "Oriental Scribe" – Franz Xaver Bergmann (Cold-painted)

For sale is a rare antique Wiener cold-painted bronze from the late 19th / early 20th century by the famous manufactory Franz Xaver Bergmann.

Details & Highlights:

• Motif: Intricately worked Oriental scribe seated in the lotus position on a prayer rug with writing tablet, inkwell and book stand (Rahlah).
• Signature & stamp: On the underside double-marked with the well-known pseudonym "Nam Greb" as well as the official Bergmann foundry stamp (jug with "B").
• Execution: Solid bronze casting in excellent craftsmanship and original Wiener cold-painting.
• Dimensions: 20 cm x 11 cm x 13 cm (Width x Depth x Height)
• Weight: approx. 1.68 kg (1679 g)
• Condition: Very good authentic age-related condition with a beautiful patina.
