Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - "Aurora LidlLuxury" - Lidl - 8/20
When hard discount becomes a luxury icon.
Following the success of the Aurora Borealis, Aurora Original Fake, Aurora Authentic Fake series... AMA continues its ironic exploration of contemporary consumer codes with a new luminous creation, as disturbing as it is seductive.
"Aurora LidlLuxury" – LIVE POOR / BE RICH detours the popular discount imagination to turn it into a desirable, chrome, luminous, almost sacred art object.
A stark black-on-wood contrast between social reality and the fantasy of wealth: LIVE POOR on one side, BE RICH on the other.
A simple, brutal, universal slogan.
By day: a chrome teddy bear drawn from the hard discount imagination.
By night: a multicolored aurora borealis ignites the space.
A brutal contrast between consumption forced upon us and the desire for luxury.
Limited edition of 20 copies for 2025, signed, numbered, and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature on delivery.
Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (fixed, fading transitions, simple transitions)
- Electrical power via USB cord with switch (included)
- Height: 20 cm

Who is Pope?
Pope, co-founder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe fueled by a practice of visual arts since childhood, a strong attention to detail, and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings, and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes, and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wondrous gaze, attentive to both simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether as a gift, a keepsake, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find a piece to fall in love with thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited or non-limited editions), tackling a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury brands, fashion houses, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sports, sneakers...),
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously derail labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective is making every effort to ensure that all information necessary to appraise the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description, and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claims will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
