Who is Pope?
Pope, cofounder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a lifelong practice of the plastic arts, a high standard for detail, and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and wonder-filled gaze, attentive to both simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from movements of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether as a gift, a memento, or part of your personal contemporary art collection, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his urban art passion through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited or non-limited editions) addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury brands and haute couture, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, agri-food and fashion products (sport, sneakers…),
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to slyly spoof brands such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman…), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many more.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to evaluate the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description, and photos… After the sale, no unfounded claims can be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
