Description from the seller
Very rare edition of this collection of works attributed to Saint Bonaventure of Bagnoregio, theologian, philosopher, mystic and Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor in the 13th century, whose thought occupies an essential place in the Franciscan tradition and in the history of medieval theology -
Born around 1217 in Bagnoregio and died in 1274, Bonaventure was formed within the Franciscan milieu before studying and teaching at the University of Paris, one of the main intellectual centers of medieval Christendom, then becoming Minister General of his order and Cardinal-Bishop of Albano -
The title of the work, which presents him as belonging to the Order of Minorites, immediately recalls his belonging to the Franciscan family and the place of Saint Francis's spirituality in his thought -
