Solid bronze with green-turquoise patina, mounted on an aluminium base.
Passage is a figurative bronze sculpture depicting a standing female figure caught in a subtle forward movement. The shifting weight of the body and the asymmetrical position of the legs give the sculpture a sense of motion, as though the figure is passing from one moment into the next.
The figure was originally sculpted by hand and subsequently cast in solid bronze. The surface has been finished with a green-turquoise patina, with darker areas and natural variations that emphasize the modelling of the body and the texture of the bronze.

Rather than presenting an idealised anatomical figure, the sculpture focuses on presence, weight and movement. The softly modelled body contrasts with the permanence of the bronze, while the title Passage refers to movement, transition and the passing of time.
The sculpture is mounted on a cylindrical aluminium base. The cool, understated surface of the aluminium creates a deliberate contrast with the aged appearance and green-turquoise patina of the bronze.
The sculpture is signed MG and has a serial number.
