Pair of vintage cast bronze medallions with silk miniatures, featuring The Red Boy and a Rococo pastoral scene, housed in ornate gilt bronze frames and dating to the 1960s–1970s, each 20 cm by 15 cm and together 464 g, produced in Italy.

Pair of vintage bronze cast medallions with miniature scenes on silk – Sir Thomas Lawrence ("The Red Boy", 1825) & Gallant Pastoral Scene Rococo (Watteau/Boucher style)
Refined pair of oval decorative wall medallions dating from the second half of the 20th century (Neo-Rococo / Mid-Century style).
The plaques feature an elaborate and solid external pierced bronze frame (weight a substantial 464 g), richly decorated with volutes, foliage motifs and shells. Inside the main frame there is a velvet background original to the piece (one in emerald green and the other in crimson red), which frames a central oval bronze medallion finely granulated.
The subjects of the central medallions are high-quality reproductions stamped on fine silk, whose fiber gives a particular luster, tonal softness and a shimmering effect to the painted details:

Original Work Author: Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769–1830), celebrated British painter and President of the Royal Academy.

The child is depicted absorbed in contemplation in a natural landscape, dressed in an iconic opulent red velvet outfit with a lace-collared, ornate shirt.
