AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
In this painting I wanted to create a feeling of stillness, while the movement of the hair gives the figure something almost weightless. She seems lost in her own thoughts, somewhere between being present and somewhere else.
The soft blues, greys and turquoise are contrasted by the black of the figure and the warmer tones of the skin. I left parts of the painting loose and unfinished, with visible brushstrokes and different layers of paint. I like these traces of the painting process to remain visible.
Painted with high-quality acrylic paint on high-quality cotton canvas.
Total canvas size: 101 × 130 cm
Suitable for a stretcher frame of: 90 × 120 cm
The extra canvas around the painting allows it to be stretched onto a 90 × 120 cm frame.
The painting will be carefully rolled and securely shipped in a protective tube, without a stretcher frame.
Seller's Story
Stephanie van der Klooster is a visual artist from The Hague. She trained in a classical painting program, but gradually developed an ever more expressive style. Her work is characterized by loose brushstrokes, intuitive building, and bold use of color.
From her studio, a space for experimentation and intuitive creation, paintings emerge that seek a balance between dream and reality.
With a preference for oil paint, acrylic paint, and mixed techniques, she focuses mainly on the human figure, but also on expressive landscapes. Her work has been exhibited in various exhibitions and is part of private collections.
Each work is unique, carefully constructed, and a reflection of the inner world in paint.
