LASVEGUIX
French contemporary artist, Lasveguix develops a distinctive universe at the crossroads of street art, collage and contemporary painting. His work questions the memory of walls, the passage of time, and the poetry of the ephemeral, transforming urban scars into emotionally charged artworks.
Introduced to graffiti by his cousin SUOZ, he forges his visual language through contact with the walls of Paris and London. His work is part of an artistic lineage where the great names of urban and contemporary art converse. It bears the heritage of Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains in the art of torn posters, the sculptural power of Vhils, the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the silhouettes of Jérôme Mesnager, the poetry of Miss Tic, the urban memory of Ernest Pignon-Ernest, the stencil of Jef Aérosol, the pixelated universe of Invader, and the iconic force of Shepard Fairey. Without ever imitating them, Lasveguix asserts a personal, immediately recognizable handwriting.
Torn posters, spray paint, acrylic, Posca and reliefs create genuine 'skins of walls,' where tears, superimpositions and traces of time become witnesses of a collective memory. Each work reveals a dialogue between material, history and emotion, inviting the viewer to rediscover the beauty of what the city seemed to have forgotten.
Lasveguix regularly exhibits in France and internationally. His works join private collections in many countries and reflect a growing interest from collectors. His career leads him to participate in art fairs, prestigious exhibitions as well as charity galas bringing together collectors, patrons and institutions. His work has notably been showcased at events organized at Roland-Garros, the District 13 Art Fair at the Hôtel Drouot, in Monaco and at several emblematic venues of the contemporary art scene.
Through each of his creations, Lasveguix gives a second life to the city’s vestiges. He does not represent the walls; he unveils their soul, prompting a dialogue between urban heritage, memory and creation in a work that is profoundly contemporary and timeless.
