This figurative work, titled "Pierrot", was created in 1973. The painting portrays in half-figure the famous melancholic mask of Commedia dell'Arte. The author is Roberto Bort, a painter born in Valencia, Spain, in 1933, who developed much of his career and artistic maturity in Paris, where he moved thanks to a scholarship in 1956, also participating in important exhibitions such as the Salon des Artistes Français. His style is aligned with modern figurative painting, characterized by an expressive and vibrant use of the palette.

The composition is dominated by a strong chromatic contrast and a notable textural quality of the painterly application. The character's face, with delicate features and a dreamy expression, emerges softly thanks to the luminosity of the complexion, which stands out distinctly from the dark, warm, and earthy tones of the background. Framing the face are the traditional conical hat, painted with bold brushstrokes in a bright orange, and a wide ruff collar formed through white and pinkish shades. The oil technique is rich, with evident brushwork that gives volume, depth, and a theatrical touch to the entire canvas.

The work is signed and dated "Roberto Bort 73" in the lower right corner. On the back, directly on the canvas, there is an additional handwritten signature by the artist, the year of execution, and the title of the painting.

If visible in the photo, the frame is included in the lot as a pure gift from me and is not part of the sale; it does not determine the value, and, given its delicacy, it is not insured. Consequently, any defects already present on the frame are not reported, and any damage to it during transport will not be considered for claims or returns. The wall-hanging system might also be removed. Glass often breaks during transport and can spoil the artwork. They can be removed upon request at no extra cost. Please indicate if you prefer the work to be shipped without it; otherwise I cannot take responsibility.

Notes on shipping and customs
-The item is shipped from Geneva, Switzerland. For this reason, delivery times to European Union countries could be slightly longer than usual due to standard customs procedures.

In case the package is returned for an incorrect address, unclaimed, or duties unpaid, the buyer will have to pay for a second shipping and cover the return costs.

I also remind you that, since Switzerland lies outside the EU customs area, import duties, local VAT, and customs fees are entirely on the buyer and will be collected by the authorities of your country upon delivery. I advise you to inform yourself in advance to avoid surprises. Alternatively, if you have the option, personal pickup in Geneva is always my preferred option and highly recommended, as it eliminates shipping costs and ensures maximum security for the artwork. If shipping is chosen, I will do my best to package it to protect the painting during travel."
