Original 1990 Bertoni Milano miniature reproduction of the FIFA World Cup Trophy, in a gold finish and mounted on a heavy dark marble base with a front plaque reading INA Assitalia and ITALIA ’90, height about 17 cm, width about 5 cm, weight around 833 g, with back label BERTONI MILANO and certificate included.
Description from the seller
Miniature reproduction of the World Cup Trophy, made by the historic Bertoni company of Milan, the same Italian manufacturer that produced the original FIFA trophy on Gazzaniga's design.
The miniature faithfully reproduces the famous shape of the cup, with the two human figures supporting the globe and the characteristic helical structure that extends from the base to the summit. The trophy features a golden finish and is mounted on a heavy square dark marble base, crossed by light natural veining.
On the front of the base is a plaque bearing the logos “INA Assitalia” and the inscription “ITALY ’90”, linking the piece to the 1990 FIFA World Cup, held in Italy from June 8 to July 8, 1990.
On the back of the base is also present the original label “BERTONI MILANO”, an element particularly significant that identifies the manufacturing firm.
The piece measures about 17 cm in height and 5 cm in width and has a considerable weight of about 833 grams, features that, together with the marble base and the quality of workmanship, distinguish it from ordinary commercial reproductions of the trophy.
These miniature pieces were made as commemorative and representational objects, intended for figures associated with the event, including players, staff members, sponsors, and other people involved in the event.
The 1990 World Cup concluded on July 8 at the Olympic Stadium in Rome with West Germany defeating Argentina 1-0, thanks to the goal converted by Andreas Brehme from a penalty. Italy, the hosts, finished the tournament in third place, with Salvatore Schillaci as the standout figure and top scorer of the competition with six goals.
