Description from the seller

An original and rare metal construction plaque (plaque de constructeur) from the Société des Ponts et Travaux en Fer of Paris (Head Office: 93, Rue Taitbout, Paris). This company was founded in 1882 and was one of the major French pioneers in steel bridge and railway construction. They contributed, among other things, to the iconic steel roof structure of the Grand Palais in Paris for the 1900 Exposition Universelle. Such plaques were mounted directly on bridges, viaducts, railway buildings or halls at the time. Excellent vintage condition with a beautiful authentic patina and clear relief lettering. The mounting holes in the corners are still intact. Gorgeous as a unique decorative object in an industrial interior, man cave, or as a valuable addition for collectors of historical signs and railway memorabilia. Many photos included so the condition can be well assessed. Also a photo with a pen to show the size. Photos are part of the description.

The plaque will be very carefully packed, registered and insured, sent with a tracking code. See also my other auctions and possibly save on shipping costs. Not shipped to the United States.

,We specialize in antique maritime objects. But also more recent maritime objects, old measuring devices and other curiosities. The customer comes first with us. We try to handle everything as well as possible and to take care of the shipment in a very good way. If the buyer is not satisfied, we always come to a solution together. See our reviews for confirmation. We appreciate personal contact, even if there are complaints.
