Ancient fireplace servant in bronze and brass - Louis XV Rocaille style Description: For sale a magnificent and authentic fireplace servant (fireplace valet) from the late 19th / early 20th century. A charming piece ideal to dress a hearth, bring a touch of elegance to your interior decoration, or for antique and flea market enthusiasts. Features: Style: Rocaille / Louis XV, recognizable by its superb relief-carved decorations (swirls, curls and foliage). Materials: Fine period assembly with base and handles in solid bronze (beautiful raw patina from the foundry visible under the base), and masts/stems in brass. Condition: Very good overall for its age (about 100 years). The piece is complete, sturdy, and the assembly by its central threaded rod is original. The metal shows a beautiful authentic old patina (can be revived for a very golden glow depending on your preference).
