Hetzel et Cie circa 1868, bound in red/bordeaux demi‑leather with gold detailing, with about 800 illustrations and 1535 pages, 29 × 20 cm, in reasonable condition with plates inserted.

Complete set in 4 quarto volumes, illustrated with numerous reproductions of drawings after Viollet-le-Duc, Vierge, Bayard, Schuler, Philippoteaux, Riou, Clerget, Raffet, La Charlerie, Guiaud, Viallat and other artists.
Volume I contains 178 drawings; the four volumes together total about 800 illustrations. Text printed in two columns.
Bindings in half-leather red/bordeaux, spines decorated with gilded fillets and fleurs-de-lys, gilded titles. Overall homogeneous and decorative.
Condition: good overall for 19th-century works. Bindings showing some rubbing and signs of use; gilding well preserved. Interiors to be checked, with possible foxing related to age.
