Rare set of 4 volumes of the works of Alphonse de Lamartine, published in Paris by Charles Gosselin and Furne in 1834 ("New edition, published for the first time by the author").
Edition & Vegetal: A vignette engraved on each title page depicting an angel with a harp.
Binding: Period demi-binding in red morocco. Smooth spine ornamented with rich romantic gilt tooling, both blind and gold, with title and volume labels. Marbled boards.
Condition: Very fine aesthetic condition of the bindings, gilding well preserved. Interior with scattered but light age-toning foxing, paper well preserved without impairment to readability.
