Wedgwood - Cookie jar - Ceramic

It is an antique biscuit jar in Wedgwood Jasperware dark blue with a mount, a lid and a handle in silvered metal, probably dating from the late 19th century.

Main features

• Material: Fine unglazed stoneware (Jasperware) in cobalt blue, adorned with neoclassical reliefs in white slip depicting figures and botanical motifs (trees and vases).
• Mount: A liftable handle and a lid topped with a pinecone-shaped knop, in silvered metal.
• Era: Generally produced by the English Wedgwood manufactory during the 19th century (circa 1870-1890).
