Description from the seller
Charcoal drawing, pencil on paper, signed lower right: E. Notte (Emilio Notte, 1891–1982).
Technique: Charcoal on paper.
Dimensions: sheet 80.5 × 57 cm; with frame 88 × 65 cm.
Period: Early 20th century — mature period of the artist (circa 1910–1940)
Subject: Figurative study with attention to volume and chiaroscuro; the stroke is decisive and modulated, typical of Notte’s preparatory studies.
Visual description: The drawing features strong contrasts and a plastic rendering of the figure obtained through dense shading and confident line. The paper bears a patina consistent with its age; the edges are intact except for slight signs of use compatible with framing.
The autograph signature in the lower right is legible and consistent with the artist’s handwriting.
General condition: Good, with light spots present.
N.B. The frame with glass visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and is not an integral part of the work. Any damage to the frame and glass that may occur during transport will not be a valid reason for complaints or order cancellations.
