Description from the seller
C. Cornelius Tacitus - Annals and Histories, also his Germania and the Life of J. Agricola, in Dutch translated by Mr. Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft - Amsterdam/Leiden/Utrecht, Hendrik Wetstein/Pieter Sceperus/Daniel van den Dalen/Willem van de Water, 1704 - (32) 528 (84) pp. - fine blind-stamped parchment binding
Good. The binding shows dust stains / is somewhat dusty and discolored, appropriate for its age. Parchment along the bottom edge of the front cover split. Interior pages discolored, here and there a spot, moisture stains under the margin on 12 leaves and on about ten leaves spread through the book. Gatherings from the beginning up to page 48 are at the bottom somewhat loose. Pages 307 to 310 are loose at the bottom, outer edge of leaf 307/308, subsequently the portrait slightly frayed, top and outer margins of leaves 309/310 slightly frayed. A few dog-ears / creases. Inner margins of the first 8 leaves bound a bit tighter together.
