Description
TYPE I is a personal art project by Pieter Bas Bouwman, who has lived with type 1 diabetes since the age of seven. The work translates a daily reality into a visual language of repetition and rhythm.
At the center is the tension between control and temptation, two forces that continually vie for primacy.
Each work consists of a box filled with insulin syringes, hand-arranged into a pattern on a wooden substrate. The placing requires patience and precision; the repetition that arises recalls the routines through which a life is structured, whether or not diabetes is involved.
A Plexiglas cover completes the piece, temptation that remains visible but just out of reach.
Shipping
The artwork is shipped in the original box. Shipping costs are borne by the buyer.
