A very scarce first edition thus of Clairville's continuation of Rousseau's letters on botany, illustrated with six monochrome plates (engraving).
The first edition thus of this work. A really fundamental work. 'La Botaniste Sans Maitre' is Rousseau's exposition of the Linnaeus system of the classification of plants, comprising of a selection of letters. This work is Rousseau's 'Letters on the Elements of Botany' under a different title.
This edition was continued by notable French -Swiss botanist and entomologist Joseph Philippe de Clairville,
