The work is illustrated with an allegorical engraved frontispiece, a title page in black and red framed by an engraved vignette, as well as numerous in-text and out-of-text engravings of plates illustrating bas-reliefs, Greek and Latin inscriptions (notably on Syrian deities), coins and antique monuments such as the famous Gaeta vase (Nineteenth Dissertation).
