Description from the seller

Unique and original work painted by hand by Raphaël Monnet

Raphaël Monnet develops a contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes material, rhythm, and movement.

He approaches the canvas as an space for experimentation. The painting is projected, accumulated, and confronted with opposite colors. The impacts cross, some areas densify while others allow the background to breathe.

His process does not rely on a pre-prepared image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance appears between apparent disorder and pictorial organization.

Based in the Léo Varek workshop in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around the projection and superposition of colors. His works possess an immediate presence at a distance and reveal, when approached, a multitude of details, nuances, and unexpected encounters between pigments.

Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of projections, the distribution of matter, and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically.

Format and presentation

The indicated dimensions correspond to the total size of the canvas. A painted peripheral area is intended to be folded over the sides of the frame, not encroaching on the main composition.

Some images show the work in situ to facilitate its projection into an interior. They are created using the ArtStage mockup software, which performs AI mockups. Proportions may slightly vary depending on the staging. Please refer to the dimensions stated in the description to know the actual size of the work.

The edges are partially painted and allow for a clean finish after mounting.

Shipping

The work is shipped rolled in a rigid protective package, without stretcher or frame.

Slight creases may appear upon receipt. This is perfectly normal for a canvas shipped rolled. These marks naturally disappear when it is put under tension.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas stretched by a local framer.

Shipments are made by express carrier — DHL, FedEx, or equivalent — with close tracking until delivery.

Some destinations may incur additional shipping charges beyond my control. In such case, the buyer will be informed before shipment to adjust the charges if necessary. Without approval of these fees, shipment cannot be made.

Additional information

The colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings and shooting conditions.
Frame and frame not included.
