Description from the seller

Elegant Sculptural Table Clock in Empire Style "Muse with Lyre" – M.M. Firenze Manufacture (Vintage 1970s)

The splendid sculptural case depicts the allegorical figure of the Muse of Music (or Lyric Poetry) in draped classical garments, intent on supporting a large lyre that frames the clock dial. The sculpture is cast in a heavy artistic metal alloy, enriched by a refined and dramatic two-tone finish that alternates silvery elements (the figure and the base) with precious gold accents (the lyre and the geometric bas-reliefs of the base). The white dial features Roman numerals and is protected by the original mineral glass.

Mechanism and Technical Features:
The clock represents a perfect blend of Tuscan artistic design and the micromechanical precision of German engineering from the Cold War era:
• Case origin: Tuscany, Italy (bearing the original stamp impressed on the rear base: "PRIV. FIRENZE M.M. ITALY").
• Movement origin: Black Forest, West Germany (bearing the inscription "West Germany" on the inner plate).
• Winding type: Manual mechanical winding, via a convenient butterfly key fixed on the back.
• Power reserve: Daily (24/30 hours)

Conditions:
• The item presents in excellent vintage aesthetic condition with a beautiful natural patina. The West German mechanical movement is intact and the winding key is present.
• The rear knob for manual adjustment of the hands is missing (the threaded pin is nevertheless intact and functioning.
