Antique Dutch Brass Wall Mirror (Repoussé) with Double Facet Glass and Matching Brushes – circa 1880 - 1920
For sale: a beautiful and authentic antique Dutch wall mirror, produced around 1900. The mirror is executed in the classical Dutch style with richly repoussé brass on a wooden core.
Details & Material:
· Material: The front is made of high-quality repoussé brass (repoussé technique) with a beautiful old patina. The back consists of solid wood (likely oak or mahogany) with a central wooden cover plate.
· Glass: The mirror features original facet-cut glass with a double facet edge (double bevel), which provides a lovely light play and depth. The glass is in very good condition. No cracks or chips!
· Decoration: The top (cartouche) is beautifully adorned with a classic boat/landscape in relief, surrounded by graceful curls and a shell motif. The mirror is double-concave.
· Complete set: Includes the 2 original matching brushes, making this a very complete and rare set.
Condition:
The piece is in good antique condition. Normal signs of use and patina are visible, consistent with its age and enhancing its character. The back has original hanging hooks.
