Artist Statement:
This work explores the visceral drama of existence in the face of nature’s indomitable force. In "Shine in the Storm," I have captured the exact moment when a solitary sailboat, painted with thick textures of warm tones and ochres, struggles to hold its course in a deep and stormy sea, depicted with gestural brushstrokes of indigo and petroleum blue. The somber palette of the stormy sky, with its oppressive grays and pale blues, is dramatically interrupted by an explosion of golden and pink light on the horizon. This radiance is not merely an atmospheric phenomenon; it is a metaphor for hope, resilience, and the inner light that guides us even in life’s darkest moments. The acrylic technique on canvas emphasizes the physicality of the struggle, inviting the viewer to feel the movement of the water and the tension in the air.
