Printed on thick paper, original dust jacket bound, cover in decorative paper, green morocco label on the upper board.
Born in Moscow in 1872, Zvorykin devoted himself to the decorative arts after earning his diploma from the Moscow Art Academy. He adopted the style of Ivan Bilibine, inspired by medieval Russia and traditional popular culture, and became one of the greatest illustrators of Russian books. After the Revolution, Zvorykin left Russia and settled permanently in Paris, where he worked for the publishing house H. Piazza.
