Jean de La Fontaine, Les Amours de Psyché et Cupidon, a two-volume 1899 deluxe illustrated edition limited to 250 copies on vélin (no. 162) with 26 engravings by Vigna-Vigneron and a preface by Jules Claretie; bindings signed by Durvand in full black morocco with gilt edging in a Bozerian-inspired design, very good condition with slight spine cracking and minor defects.

Paris, Théophile Belin, 1899. 2 volumes, quarto, 96 pages & 144 pages.
Magnificent illustrated edition with 26 engravings by Vigna-Vigneron, printed in only 250 copies on vellum (No. 162), with a preface by Jules Claretie.
Each engraving is issued in three states: the definitive colored state, the black state with the letter, and a bistre state in the line before the letter. At the end of each volume there is the color decomposition of an engraving (4 engravings each time).
The edition’s subscription prospectus is bound in.
Binding signed Durvand, full black long-grain morocco, smooth decorated spine, decorated covers, ornament in the 1800s taste (Bozerian style), gilt edges. Hinges slightly cracked, minor defects.
