AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Up for auction today is an interesting late 19th or early 20th-century soprano clarinet constructed in the Albert / Simple fingering system. This system is highly favored by historical classical performers and traditional folk, Klezmer, and early Dixieland jazz musicians for its distinctly warm, open tone and unique pitch-slurring capabilities.
* Material: The body is crafted from high-quality, dense dark Grenadilla (ebony) wood, showing an attractive natural grain with purple-brown undertones under direct lighting. It features original solid German silver (nickel-silver) keywork with an aged patina.
* Pitch: in C, marked with an "S" stamp on the bell indicating Sharp / High Pitch (A=452-457 Hz). (The fully assembled body measures approximately 19 inches / 48.3 cm from the top rim of the barrel socket down to the bottom rim of the bell). The instrument breaks down into standard historical configurations:
* Fingering System: Simple / Albert System layout with integrated rollers on the lower pinky keys.

Condition: The wood joints are structurally solid overall, but please note a visible hairline surface crack in the barrel joint (see last photo). Normal surface scuffs are consistent with historical use and age. The German silver keys are intact, structurally straight, and complete. They display a beautiful aged, dark unpolished patina that can be buffed to a bright luster if desired. Springs retain physical tension. The pads and key corks are vintage and show expected wear/drying from long-term storage. This instrument is sold in "as-found" vintage condition. It will require a standard cleaning, oiling, crack sealing, and fresh repadding / servicing by a woodwind technician to be brought back into optimal playing condition. This clarinet will for sure make a great addition for a professional and/or collector, so don't miss out!!!

Included: As-is as pictured with no case nor mouthpiece.

Shipment: The lot will be carefully packaged and shipped by Deutsche Post (DHL) with tracking.

This item is being sold as-is as pictured, so please take a look at the photos carefully as they are part of the description.
