Chinese propaganda poster – 1967

Period-era Chinese propaganda poster dated November 1967, in the midst of the Cultural Revolution.

The composition, very characteristic of the revolutionary iconography of that era, brings together workers, peasants and soldiers around Mao's Little Red Book, on a powerful red background. The large vertical slogan roughly means, “Hundreds of millions of people are coming to participate in the critique.”

A poster with particularly strong graphics, using a deliberately limited palette of red, black and beige, emblematic of Chinese political production in the 1960s.

Dated: November 1967.

Original condition with light traces and irregularities visible in the photographs.
